This sweet wine is made from the moscatel grape, also know as moscatel romano or moscatel de alejandria. The fermentation is stopped by the addition of alcohol. The result is a sweet wine with some residual sugar and an alcohol degree between 15% and 22%. The production of muscat wine in the area of Valencia lies between 65.000 and 70.000 hectoliters per year. This MOSCATEL DE VALENCIA has a very intense aroma with a lot of fruit. One can drink it like it is, or use it further to prepare and refine aromatic and sparkling white wines. |
